Very few vehicles have had the honor of receiving GM’s new Super Cruise technology — an advanced feature that allows for true hands-free driving on over 200,000 miles of highway in North America. This past December, General Motors announced that the 2022 GMC Sierra 1500 Denali pickup truck would be the next to offer the innovative Super Cruise.*
The GMC Denali trim lineup is known for its high-end features and advanced technology, so this is a perfect addition. This near-autonomous driver-assist technology allows you to take your hands off the wheel, and your foot off the gas pedal, for a comfortable experience on compatible highways.
It builds on familiar driver-assist tools like adaptive cruise control, which it uses to handle braking and acceleration. The addition of cameras, sensors, LiDAR map data, and GPS makes it possible for the technology to take care of the steering, too.
Although you can take your hands off of the wheel, you can’t take your eyes off of the road. Super Cruise includes a camera that monitors your behavior to make sure you’re staying attentive to your surroundings. As long as you stay alert and on a compatible highway, Super Cruise will remain active.
